Harlequin Macaw 1500

This is Obi. He is about 7 Years old. I got him as a baby (4 months old). He was hand raised from a reputable breeder. He is very friendly and well behaved. He says a few words, is friendly to strangers, is friendly to other birds, and loves hanging out on your shoulder. He loves human food (favorites include french fries), enjoys taking baths, and loves to play with people.

I love this bird. But unfortunately I cannot give him the attention he deserves. I am looking for a new family for him. It is important to me that he finds a loving home.

All parrots have a few bad habits, and his is that he is an escape artist! He is very smart and can get out of any cage. It is a constant game between the two of us. Right now I have an extra rope that I tie on the latches so he cannot pull them up. If he does get out while I am away at work he will usually stay on his cage and just climb to the top. There have been many days that I just let him hang out outside of the cage all day long and it was fine.

The important thing here is the habits that he does NOT have. He does not scream or squawk. He might get talkative around 6p.m., but it is so cute! He sings and jabbers for about an hour and it is not too loud. He likes people and does not bite. He will use his mouth to play and explore, he might give an occasional warning, but he is NOT aggressive, and his warnings are no where near as hard as they could be. He will willingly go to most strangers, and he loves to be on anyone's shoulder.

He will come with a cage, 2 play stands, food, and TON of Parrot toys. Please call, text or email me if you are interested. I am willing to drive and pord him off if his new home is not local.
