Female is 7yo and tame when not broody. She has a large vocabulary that includes "Hey Baby, Pretty bird, Who'se a pretty bird?" and mixed phrases. She is very unique: when fully feathered, her chest is half red and half purple, a mutation I was told is hereditary and her young also receive.
Male is 6yo and doesn't talk but does a loud MWA! He is NOT hand tame, but is very passive and has the potential.
Both birds had severely plucked at the loss of their previous mates. Since being put together in March, both have begun to fill out beautifully and the male is covered in down. The pictures on the post were taken in April, and they look a lot better now :)
Because of the emotional distress they endured from being alone, I will NOT separate them. The hope was to breed but we have decided to get out of breeding. Both were proven with their previous mates, and if you know your eclectus', you will know that ekkies do not mate for life.
The cage is a double flight with a divider (A&E I think?) purchased brand new just for them and would love for it to go with the,. I am looking to trade for a Gallah Cockatoo, Dusky Pionus, Bronze-Winged Pionus, or Hawk-headed Parrot. The bird MUST be tame as it will become a beloved pet in my home. I would prefer not to ship, but will consider it according to the situation. If you have another bird you are looking to trade for, just let me know and I will say if I am interested or not. I love all parrots, and am not too picky, the ones I listed are just some of my dream birds. I am not interested in macaws or smaller birds.
