Her name is Phoebe and she is a BEAUTIFUL yellow streaked lory. She is a rare bird and on the verge of being extinct in the wild. Lories are not like other parrots. They are fed a strictly nectar diet. Fresh fruits and veggies are also allowed. She is not allowed on any kind of seed diet, she must have her nectar and you can find her kind online. If you are not experienced with this breed then please do your research first. She is not a hard bird to maintain, but she does require things a little different than other parrots. Phoebe is the sweetest bird I have known. She is a lover and loves to be hugged, rubbed under her beak. She steps up and loves to be on shoulders, she likes to nibble on ears, noses, lips. She DOES NOT bite, but she does not like young children. Older children would be better for her. She is used to being out of her cage a lot and she loves to play. Her favorite toy is a plastic grocery bag. She will play with it for hours. I hate to get rid of phoebe, but I am not around to let her out of her cage much anymore and she is happiest out of her cage. She is looking for an experienced home and a home where she can be out of her cage at least 7 hours a day. She comes with her cage and toys and whatever food she has left. She is on a nectar and fruit diet mostly, she doesnt like many veggies, but will eat corn and lettuce occasionally. She liked her fruit pureed. She eats nectar twice a day and a fruit puree once a day. I usually put apples, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and pears. She needs variety when it comes to fruits and veggies. I also cut her up apples and she likes them that way. For snacks she likes bread with a little jelly and water. She occasionally gets a few chips or cookies, but small quantities. Serious inquires can email me. You can see a short video of Phoebe here http://youtu.be/KmEuVsedpuY
