The parrotlet population is quite diverse in terms of color variations. Individuals unaccustomed to owning birds may find that they make excellent companions. The little stature belies the enormous intellect and colossal personality these creatures possess. Striking a balance between shyness and sweetness, they are very loving. Some of them can even control their speech. An ideal cage for this bird would be at least 25'' in length, 21'' in width, and 29'' in height, with wires spaced ½'' apart.
